Our Medifast Journey
This page has been added here to provide a portal to the articles that will be written over the next few months, concerning our (wife and I) journey of weight loss using Medifast. We are using Medifast to get our weight under control, after having lost a bunch of weight, only to gain that weight back again. I do not blame Medifast for my inability to keep the weight off, I blame my inability to wrap my head around the whole issue of a healthy life style.
I really did enjoy my time on Medifast (1st time) because it really was that easy, it was a no brainer. I simply followed the program and the weight came off. I think what I like best about Medifast really has nothing to do with losing weight. I have discovered that when I am using Medifast I do not have to think about the foods I am eating. I do not have to rush out during my lunch hour and get some food, if I forgot to pack a lunch. I do not have to worry about overeating because everything…is what it is!
What I mean is that the 5 Medifast meals I eat everyday are easy and beyond convenient. The one thing I had trouble adjusting to, is the portion size of the Medifast meals. I am the type of guy that loves foods, like pizza, and because I like it so much, I often eat the entire pizza in one sitting. With Medifast I do not have that problem. Despite my re-lapse of weight, I do know that even with one small serving of Medifast chili, I am fine once I get away from the table. When I start eating, it is like I am possessed. I just eat and eat and eat until I am stuffed because I ate too much. With Medifast I never have that problem and once I get up from the pre-portioned meal, or the Lean and Green meal, I am fine. It is almost like I am hypnotized when I am in front of food.
The one thing I was quite shocked about Medifast is that it is really quite affordable, in the long term. I have realized that once you get on the Medifast program, you save more money than you spend. I ALWAYS shop at Wal-Mart because that is what we can afford. We discovered that once we are on the program, we go to Wal-Mart and there is really very little food to purchase. We learned that once the initial expense of getting started was over, we were buying SIGNIFICANLTY less groceries and we were not eating out nearly as much as we often have done in the past. It really is less expensive to use medifast than eat “normal”.
WELL! I have said enough and if you are interested in learning more about my first journey, check our first experience. (ThinBlog) If you want to know more about us personally, then check out our other site.(FatExcusesBeGone.com)
